I have just this minute been speaking with the co-ordinator, who runs the northern based series. I have found some first hand information and from what i have gathered the idea of the society ever running its own series is pretty much never going to happen. Due to the costs, permits etc. I think the most likely is that we move to a series which is established. This will probably be within the BARC. Memebership being only £16 its affordable to all. The idea being that whoever enters, we can run a points system within our own group members. The northern based series has been running many years and its free to sign upto. I will be emailing details of the northern based series tonight to all the members. This series is at Oulton park, Anglessy, cadwell, mallory Donnington, croft. From there we can see the response and who wants to race.
So less of the talking and lets see who wants to race

Looked at the details of this and not for me or I believe the majority of the racers of this society who let their racing do the talking. I'll stick with the alternatives and continue racing as I have for the past 20+ years.

Hi. Thanks for reply can you tell us what series you are racing in so we could come race with you. Dont quite understand your reply stating " you believe the majority of the racers of this society let the racing do the talking.
I dont think we have had 10 emails returned with regards to any of the posts we have put on.
Maybe you would like to take the society forward do all the work , phone calls etc and emails and find us a series to race in.
I look forward to your reply.

Last five years - British Car Trophy - Germany, Belgium etc. Next season the odd round in the Maxi 1000 Series in France and probably HSCC 70's Roadsports in the UK. All of these series are for road based cars so no spaceframes/semi-spaceframes.
Those racers who have registered an interest are generally already racing in series in the UK and for this society to attract them it needs to offer something in addition to their existing series which in my opinion it unfortunately cannot.
From the lack of interest in this forum, and in this connection just to let you know I've contributed to it from it's inception, it's obvious that the idea, although a good one originally, has no chance of taking off in the form as originally intended.
I wish you luck in the future but suggest that you learn to accept comments made will not always be in agreement with your opinions.

Whatever...I suggest you go ahead with any scope of the HTS involvement Michael.. But please no extra special 1300cc cars otherwise i want my forced induction belt connected I'm sure that the concept of the HTS as Gerry formulated agrees with lots of people and as long as it is there it will succeed eventually! Even if i am the only one about in 2020!
What happened to the people who are building cars in line with this?

Hi Pete, i find your comments extremely strange and confusing You seem to travel the world racing. Very well done. You dont seem to participate in many championships here.
What im saying is, here is your chance to compete within a championship where cars of the same cc will be racing against you.
What else do we want at this stage.
You also suggest the members on the register are already racing. If so Why would they sign upto the membership on here?
You say this is never going to happen. Maybe you could give up this years race calender and put some time into the championship which i have suggested which we have a chance of racing in.
You have been involved since the start of HTS, fantastic ! now show your loyalty and get on board
Regards
Mike

Let's just skip it boys! Anyone can choose what they do despite any politics. As i said it doesn't matter if only two or three people are active competitors in HTS. In due course it will evolve like any other fledgling society. I have confidence in all this because i am having decals put on my van promoting the HTS. Like my mate Del said, "This time next year we will be millionairres!" ,if you see what i mean!

Hi Mike I'm definitely interested, I'll be honest though, if we're going to sit in with another championship, I would prefer the HTS cars to be within the 1000cc limit, so that those HTS members competing would contribute, hopefully, a substantial number of cars of the same capacity to the grid. I've got most of my gear ready now and I am at the rebuilding stage, so I will endeavour to get ready for some racing next year. By the way Mike, I'd like to give you some praise for the no little amount of effort you have put in to this venture. I have to say that anybody taking a commitment like this on, whilst juggling work and family demands, deserves recognition for their hard work. I appreciate that sometimes it must seem like you are flogging a dead horse!! You have found us a series that would welcome some new blood and it will at least give us an opportunity to get together. (Bear in mind, that after over two years none of the Society has ever even met as spectators at a race circuit, never mind as racers!!). If we can get some of our members on the starting grid next year, then at least we have something to build on. It's obvious that a stand alone series is not going to happen.......yet! Well done Mike, I'll keep you posted on my progress.
Cheers
Tim

Thanks for your imput and support fellas.. Like said,, I really think this is a great opportunity to get on the grid. Once we get some cars out competing i really feel that we can go places.
I myself am not bothered at this stage about winning , thats not my goal. I just want to see a series which can attract the type of cars we have. and take it from there.
I think Colin rooney is on board and ive had contact with another couple of members.
I myself have just about aquired all the kit needed, most of it second hand and i have a medical tuesday and ARDS test on the 10 december at Oulton park.
Car will be ready around feb for some testing probably at a trackday.
I would be really pleased if we could get the nod from at least 5 who would commit to 5 races throughout the year to start with.
One more thing guys this series is quite well subscribed so the quicker you get the details the more chance of getting on the grid. Obvious if you think you are nearly there but turn out not being able to race just get signed on for the series so at least you have the opportunity.
Thanks again

I'm looking at April, hopefully. Will try my hardest to get the car ready earlier if I can though. All the structural work is done, got a couple of engines to chose from and a nice, newly built gear box (Dave Weedon) with competition ratios. Will give it a real go now that we've got something to aim for. I agree with Mike about the winning bit, I'm sure everybody wants to be competitive, but that will only come with track time. Come on, let's see how many we can get signed up!!!!

Hi David
Just confirming that I'm pushing ahead, don't know if I'll make the end of March meet, but I'm sure the nd of April will see me ready. The Clan's nearly ready to paint, just about to put the cage in, engine and gearbox and do all the fiddly bits, no major reworking stuff now. Will you be able to make this year?
Cheers
