Gerry,
Unfortunately I don't see a straightforward answer to this. Whilst I'm all for slicks on my own experience and their cost I seriously feel that the best answer would be to settle on List 1B tyres. The ideal would be a single tyre supplier with them being provided at a reduced price but the difficulty with this is ensuring that all required sizes are available. The next question is then what about the Dunlop Historic tyres that a number of the potential entrants to this series are already using. Should they be allowed? Whilst they are allowed alongside the Yoko 048 in the CSSC Swinging 60's I think anyone using them quickly finds out that the Yoko is a superior tyre and is worth several second/lap.

Yes this is perhaps more difficult than the engine size ruling! I would suggest that it be just a open situation . The only loser being the Historic band maybe..Or will they be just doing a odd race inbetween their scene, rather than a serious HTS championship.. An open tyre situation will lead to a serious competitor swapping and adapting to the "in" tyre that seems to be making the running! Where as the casual 1 or 2 race per year racer won't care a hoot and maybe use his tyres that are on the vehicle come what may!!
It all depends on how the handicap system is appied(if any??),as it may even be lucrative to keep the Falken list 1a tyres i have just bought! David L

Well as i put in another post its not that easy to change some cars from slicks to a control tyre due to body work getting rubbed away ,as i see thing this series was started to try and get cars of the same engine size out on the track but if no slicks your going to lose quiet a few cars ,you just need to have different class structures
