It has been passed on to me that my ex Mason Stiletto is featured on that Imp car club forum. There is a large showing of interest on the particular thread regarding "spaceframe" racing cars. The Mason Stiletto in question just has to be the ultimate "proper Imp ",as it still retains the original floorpan and front bulkhead/screen surround! Looking back i feel how foolish it was getting rid of the chassis which was at the time getting a bit derelict! It would be in contention for HTS rules as it was made long before the 1980 cut off period as opposed to a lot of "spaceframe cars"! HGH will never have the same competitiveness as the Mason despite myself spending hours and ££'s on it! I'd love it to return for the 3rd time to my stable ,but i am commited now to HGH and my forthcoming plans! Statements such as "moving on" and "never look back", must be taken into account i suppose! To be honest i have let the car down on two previous occasions, but my up to date location is ideal for it's resurection .Whereas before the front garden on two different locations(council estate) was far from ideal! I believe Ron Aspinwall still has the chassis in his place. Despite attempt to contact i am non the wiser of this great cars status! Anyhow after HGH i have a quest in that i want to build my own racing car design...See the Costin-Nathan forum for my writings on the subject!

Ron definately has the car at present,i do not know how much the car would be worth but im sure the work is excellent,i believe the owner left it with him to be restored but has never returned to collect it,i assume at this stage money would be due to him, hence the reason it is up for sale to cover the costs to date of the build

Definitely food for thought. We're hoping to take Pepi's coupe to Ron later this year for some much needed tinworm remedy.

Having browsed on the imp car club site there is a guy called Brown who is enquiring ...Do you know this car? Well he has now mentioned a name ,and i'm sure i raced against a white spaceframe Imp with the driver being called Keith Starr! It was circa 1980 at Lydden Hill ,Kent and i was using the Mason Stiletto at the time(what else?) which was then painted in French Blue... I remember he was about the same standard as me and we were trading positions...Me consistantly taking him at Devils Elbow because of better handling and then he took me back on the pit straight lighter car(?)..swine! This was great untill i did the usual... like span!
Perhaps this will be of use to him! I cannot reply as i'm not a member, but perhaps someone can pass it on
